Service Description
Intro to Therapeutic Yoga Date: Fridays Time: 8-9am Instructor Facilitator: Jen Rizza, RYT Advanced Therapeutic Yoga, Yin & Restorative Specialty, Reiki Master Teacher, Wellness & Lifestyle Coach Class Description: Intro to Therapeutic Yoga - Taught in the style of the Kripalu School of Integrative Yoga Therapy, Jen leads this 60 minute class that welcomes you to explore a therapeutic approach to yoga. In each class, you can expect a grounding welcome, guided body scan to develop personal awareness, energizing hand holds (mudras), supportive affirmations (mantras), breathwork, gentle yoga movements, and guided meditation for integration across your physical, energetic, mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions. Through this therapeutic approach, we awaken the witness within to come into better harmony across your external and internal worlds. Who is this for: Western yoga has become primarily focused on the physical components of a practice. This can make yoga feel unapproachable for some. In this therapeutic style, you are invited into the deeper wisdom of ancient Yoga, bringing in greater self-awareness, reflection, energy balancing and finding harmony across all parts of your life (mind, body, energy, emotions & spirit). If you’re already familiar with yoga, this class will feel very different than what you may know. If you’re looking to try yoga, this is a beautiful way to engage with the mindful and introspective qualities of practices beyond movement, incorporating meditation, breathwork, grounding and deeper knowing of Self. This is a trauma-informed and adaptable practice to meet you where you are.
