This is an in-person, in-studio class. Interested in learning about yoga but not sure if this is for you? This is a great class to begin understanding how yoga can positively influence your life. The class will focus on learning different stretches and ways to move your body as you build confidence and competence in the foundations of classic yoga poses. The practice of yoga is about tuning into your body through different poses and connecting information from the body with the mind. Learning how to safely protect your body and gently grow your flexibility and abilities gives you skills you can embody and bring into your daily life. Your teacher, Jen Rizza, will also share techniques to help regulate your nervous system, such as breathing practices and approachable meditation to shift your mind away from stress and into rest and recovery. What you learn and cultivate on the mat can help you better manage life and feel in greater balance when off the mat. Class is 60 minutes and includes guided instruction to create space in your body and mind, through easeful stretching and movement to learn classic yoga poses, and breathing and mindfulness practices. Each class ends with a time for rest, called savasana, which is often each student's favorite part of class! This class is intended as an introduction and building-level to start or ground your yoga practice. Jen has a gentle and mindful approach and is ready to support you as you begin your inquiry into yoga.
