About the event
In-person, in-studio class, 120 minutes
We live in a world of constant ‘on.’ It causes us to become disconnected from the body and to ‘run on empty.’ With the regular demands of life, work, family, stress, commitments, it’s important to find ways to come back into presence, into a regulated state, to reconnect with your body and to refuel so you can live in greater inner peace.
In this class, join LPC Elaine Gallas and RYT & Reiki Master Jen Rizza to learn how you can use basic yoga poses (asana) to come back into alignment and restore the connection of mind-body. When your mental, physical and emotional bodies are working together, you can better manage the demands of life and feel more ease.  The practice of yoga is to ‘yolk together’ (unite) mind and body, and you’ll walk away from this class feeling more embodied, and better equipped to move through the daily rigors of life.
Throughout the class, you’ll be offered information and gentle movements to alleviate stress and to calm your nervous system. Jen and Elaine will share psycho-education, breathing techniques, simple yoga poses you can repeat at home, meditation and other supportive practices to center back into your core being and your body.  To close the class, you'll be guided through restorative poses and savasana, promoting relaxation and a balanced nervous system.
If you’re not familiar with yoga or feel apprehensive about trying it out, this is a safe and supportive environment for you to explore more movement of your body. Jen will mindfully guide you through all movements and will help you increase your body awareness. All poses can be modified to be practiced in a chair, on the floor, supported by a wall and/or props, or adapted to your unique body.
Max 8 participants. Â You're encouraged to wear something comfortable; we'll be sitting, standing and moving throughout the class.
